That's where I heard the "4th of July" song.
Fact is, I've never even celebrated Independence Day in United States before, not until now(4th of July 2011). I know you're probably thinking, how lame that is! But you see, It isn't my fault, I grew up in the Philippines and celebrate Independence Day, 12th of June not July.
Growing up, Independence Day for me was just another regular holiday..
and ang thought ko lang naman about Independence Day sa Pinas is Walang pasok! Yun lang. LOL! Basta, I remember na lilipas nalang ang Independence Day ng wala namang bonggang celebration, and mag-sasabit lang yung lolo ko ng pagkalaking-laking Philippine flag sa balconahe. :)))
Well, about 4th of July, I just hear stuff about it and I imagine big celebrations and exciting fireworks with a tune of a patriotic music and I really thank Mariah's 4th of July song, 'cus because of it, whenever I play that song in my head, I picture the 4th of July celebration.

SCROLL DOWN AFTER YOU HEAR THE First Stanza...
It was twilight, on the Fourth of July...
Sparkling colors were strewn across the sky.
And we sat close enough, that we just barely touched.
While roman candles went soaring above us and baby
Chorus:
Then you put your hand in mine, and we wandered away.
I was trembling inside, but I wanted to stay...
Pressed against there and leave the world behind on that Fourth of July...
So starry eyed on the flowery hillside
Breathless and fervid amid the dandelions
As it swept over me like the wind through the trees
I felt you sigh with a sweet intensity and baby
Then you put your hand in mine, and we floated away. Delicately lay entwined, in an intimate daze.
A crescent moon began to shine and I wanted to stay.
Tangled up with you among the fireflies on the Fourth of July..
Thunder clouds hung around so threateningly.
Ominously hovering and the sky opened wide showering
Then you put your hand in mine and we ran from the rain.
Tentatively kissed goodnight
And went our separate ways, and I've never truly felt the way, that I felt the Fourth of July.
That was my idea of the 4th of July, firework displays and romance. I hope, someday, I'll experience watching it with my prince, and just enjoy the looking up at the sky. Sigh! :))) But for now, being with family on a 4th of July for the first time isn't that bad...

We all gathered for Independence Day and ate Brunch. :)
They came over for bbq and then after eating we watched the movie "The Grudge 3" late in the afternoon. Had so much noise in the dining room but it’s always good to have family around. :))
Anyways! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY guys!!
